Which state are you leading from?

Twelve questions. Two minutes. It names the ego state you default to under pressure — and what that default is costing the people who work for you.

No email required to see your result.

What it measures

Six sides, always blended.

Nobody lives in one ego state. You move between all six, and one of them — your Executive Ego State — is where you go by default when the pressure is on. That one runs your leadership whether you have named it or not.

Adult

Facts, options, ownership. Present, non-reactive, and the state everything useful gets done from.

Critical Parent

Correcting, judging, setting the standard. Useful in small doses. Corrosive as a default.

Nurturing Parent

Protecting and rescuing. Feels generous. Quietly teaches people they cannot handle it themselves.

Spontaneous Child

Energy, play, instinct. Where creativity lives, and where impulse decisions come from.

Withdrawn Child

The private retreat. Goes quiet, goes internal, stops saying the thing that needed saying.

Angry Child

Reactive heat. The state that sends the email you regret, or holds a grudge past its usefulness.

For leadership teams

The MRPI 360.

The Multi Rater Personality Inventory is the serious version: a 360 behavioral self-discovery instrument, run across a leadership group and always paired with a formal debrief.

A self-assessment tells you who you think you are. A 360 tells you who the room experiences. The distance between those two answers is usually where the work is — and it is not a number you can act on without someone sitting down and walking you through it. That is why the debrief is not optional.

You cannot coach a gap that nobody has seen yet.

Coming next

The Blame assessment

A short instrument built specifically around the three shapes of blame — others, self, circumstance — landing alongside the book. It will tell you which one you reach for first, which is almost never the one you would have guessed.
